The question you are asking is not a technical question and therefore cannot be answered by anyone, it is about what parts of the song move YOU, what about the song touches your soul? What parts do you wanna use to make a new statement? I assume you have never listend to 'old songs,' before and thats cool or whateva but, how are you gonna make music you don't love it? Develop an appreciation for those old records you refer to first then you will know exactly what to sample. Don't try to do anything just listen!!! Feel the music.
